Three example of things I learned from doing Clear Sentence

1. For parallelsim, some similiar elements in a sentence should be in the similiar grammatical form, such as -ing form, -ed form, or + to verb form. In a sentence like "The African elephants are endangered primarily because of poachers and a a diminishing habit", the nouns poachers and habit should be parallel.

2.When we compare one item to another item in a sentence, we should be careful of that what we are comparing. In a sentence like "Christopher had an attention span longer than that of the other students", we are comparing Christopher's attentions span to the other students', so in this case "that of" cannot be omitted.

3. We should be careful of word choices. Words should not be jargon, pretentious, or too flowery. In a sentence like "For example, practioners of medicine, officers of the law, and facillitators of learning should recognize the power of their positons", those words in the sentence are too big and too jargon. Instead, we could use doctors, police officer, teachers.
